The Monthly meetings of the McEvoy-Dempsey VFW Post 10585 are held the third thursday of each month at the Veterans Memorial Building located at Seymour and Atwater Avenues in Derby. Any and all interested veterans are welcome. Any questions, please call 203-735-3581 Derby Emblem Club #203 "Card Party & Fashion Show" to be held at the Derby Elks Lodge on November 14 at 7:00 p.m. at 73 Elizabeth St. Please e-mail for further information to LEE92460@aol.com, all proceeds to benefit programs sponsored by the Derby Emblem Club #203. Derby Emblem Club #203 is a women civic group associated with the Derby Elks Lodge #571. We give to charities, among which are St. Vincent DePaul, Hospice, United Way, Ct. Children's Hospital, to only name a few. Each year we give a scholarship check to an outstanding Valley senior. We adopt a needy family for Christmas. We also sponsor a Drug Awareness Program and Literacy Program. We have among are other Committees Community Service and Americanism. All this is done by fund raising advents throughout the year.
