Father Lou Paturzo's six week Immaculate Conception Institute
for Violence Reduction Basketball Camp was held this year in
the gym of St. Ann's Church on Park Street. Over 100 Hartford
youngsters participated in the program.
The camp was free and was one of the few basketball camps available
this summer for Hartford boys and girls. Paturzo has been involved
with Hartford youngsters for years and is heading up the camp
for the second time this year. He is presently pastor of St.
Joseph Church in Bristol.
The sponsors for the basketball program included the City of
Hartford Department of Human Resources, The Hartford Insurance
Group, the Fisher Foundation, the Ensworth Foundation, and the
Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.
