On Friday, August 14, a picnic celebration was held on Constitution
Plaza for the 1,500 youngsters who participated in this summer's
"Working Wonders" program. Mayor Michael Peters and
the Capital Region Workforce Development Board (CRWDB) hosted
the event, which was catered by ARAMARK catering of Windsor Locks.
Mayor Mike's Working Wonders Program began in 1996 as a partnership
between the City and the CRWDB to provide Hartford area youth
with meaningful job experiences at for-profit and non-profit
institutions.
