The 5th annual Mayor's golf tournament took place on Friday,
September 25, at Keney Park Golf Course in Hartford's North End.
Several hundred partcipated in the event with proceeds going
to golf programs for Hartford youth.
A $500 check to assist in hurricane relief efforts in Puerto
Rico was presented by Mayor Mike Peters to Juan Rivera, a member
of La Casa De Puerto Rico's Board of Director.
Participants included Mayor Joseph Ganin of Bridgeport, Timothy
Larson of East Hartford and Richard Borer of West Haven. Special
recognition and awards were given to Chuck Grodovich, General
Manager of Keney Golf Course, Al Loomer of the Greater Hartford
Jaycees and City Treasurer Denise Nappier for their support
of golfing programs for city youths.
