Town InformationThe town of Granby is located in Hartford County, North Central Connecticut on the Massachusetts border. It was first settled in about 1664 as a northeast district of Simsbury. In 1736 the Salmon Brook society was set off as an independent parish in Simsbury, and this parish evolved into the present-day Granby. The town was incorporated from Simsbury in 1786.
